A Histochemical and Immunohistochemical Study on the Gastrointestinal Tract of Sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus)

In the present study, we aimed to determine localization and distribution of entero-endocrine cells in gastrointestinal tract by immunohistochemical methods understand structure glycoproteins elaborated epithelium digestive regions histochemical methods. The nine sparrowhawks were euthanized, tissues removed fixed formalin. sections stained with techniques evaluate enteroendocrine histomorphometric analysis. results showed that numbers somatostatin ventriculus, gastrin proventriculus, serotonin duodenum jejunum immunopositivity are higher, remaining segments detected slight positivity glucagon, gastrin, serotonin, somatostatin. conclusion, some endocrine histomorphometry, goblet cell counts revealed sparrowhawks.
